This turned out great! The top of the pillow is made from a t-shirt that I cut into strips and gathered and then sewed onto another piece of t-shirt material. I lined it with some flannel from an old pair of jammies. Then I backed it with more t-shirt material and sewed it all together. I stuffed it with plastic bag pieces from other projects.
